PRECIOUS MOMMY PREGNANCY TEA
Every woman needs a well-toned uterus for the safe and healthy
delivery of her baby. There are several herbs that are well known for
their benefits in toning the pregnant uterus and improving its ability
to contract effectively and return to its pre-pregnancy size after
delivery. These herbs are red raspberry leaf, nettle leaf, dandelion
leaf, alfalfa, and peppermint.
- Red Raspberry, Organic: Best when brewed as a tea.
Gives tone to the muscles of the pelvic region, including the uterus
itself. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin E and the easily assimilated calcium
and iron. It also includes vitamins A and B complex and many minerals,
including phosphorus and potassium. It increases fertility pre-pregnancy
when combined with red clover. It helps to prevent miscarriage and
hemorrhage by making the uterus atonic. It eases morning sickness due to
its gentle relief of nausea and the stomach muscular lining. It reduces
pain during labor and after birth by toning the muscles of the uterus
used during labor. It helps provide a safe and speedy parturition
because it encourages the uterus to let go and function without tension.
It does not strengthen contractions but does allow the contracting
uterus to work more effectively and thus may make the birth easier and
faster. It helps to bring down the undelivered placenta when combined
with Ground Ivy or Angelica. Either of these herbs alone will do, but
the raspberry in your system helps to facilitate them better. And it
assists in production of good quality milk. It is known as the
strengthener of the entire female reproductive system. An absolute must
throughout the entire pregnancy.
- Nettle Leaf, Organic: Contains nearly every vitamin and
mineral necessary for human growth and health. Abundant in vitamins A,
C, D, and K, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and sulfur. Nettle
contains more chlorophyll than any other herb, which is important to
purify and clean the blood, guards against anemia, helps gently relieve
constipation, and is extremely nutritious. Nourishes and strengthens
kidneys so as to help facilitate the increased demands of the mother's
blood cleansing during pregnancy. Eases leg cramps and other muscle
spasms and pain due to the high calcium content. (Nettle and Raspberry
Leaf contain calcium in its most absorbable form. Spinach, chocolate,
rhubarb, and brewers yeast will interfere with the absorption of calcium
and calcium supplements made of bone meal and oyster shell should be
avoided as they are not easily absorbed in the body and they have been
shown to contain high levels of lead, mercury, cadmium, and other toxic
metals.) Nettle prevents hemorrhage due to its high vitamin K content,
and its astringency and nourishing action helps to reduce hemorrhoids by
tightening and strengthening blood vessels. It also will increase the
richness and amount of breast milk.
- Dandelion Leaf, Organic: One of the best herbs for
preventing and treating pre-eclampsia and strengthening the liver. (Poor
functioning of the liver is both symptomatic and a causative of
pre-eclampsia). Also helps the kidneys function better and is a good
source of calcium and potassium. Prevents and corrects anemia as it is a
great source of folic acid and iron.
- Oatstraw, Organic: Is a great
antidepressant (since depression is often a cause of insomnia and sleep
disorders, this is of great benefit). It
is also highly nutritive helping to regulate blood sugar, improving the
digestive system, easing tension and chronic pain. All of this allows the body to relax and

- Alfalfa, Organic: Is rich in minerals and helps to make
you a relaxed and healthy mother. It is known as a “superfood” because
it has a significant source of protein and ten different vitamins
including A, C, D, B2, niacin, B6, G and E. It also contains the
following minerals: calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron and
trace minerals. Because it is high in calcium and iron it is extremely
important during pregnancy. It is also high in Vitamin K, which is the
body's blood clotting agent, and a mother needs this to eliminate
